Signing in
Nirikshan uses two-step login so only you can access your account.
1Enter your registered mobile number and password.
2Enter the 5-digit OTP to finish signing in.
3Tick Keep me signed in to skip the OTP on a trusted device until it expires.
Your password is encrypted in the browser before it is sent — it never travels as plain text.
Creating an inspection
On site you fill just five things — everything needed for accountability is captured automatically in the background.
1 · Inspection TypeProject-Water
2 · Project / WorkWTP Nangloi — Phase II
3 · Observation PRJ-…-C001Leakage at valve chamber near inlet…
5 · Submit Inspection
1Inspection Type — Water, Drainage, Emergency, Water/Sewage Treatment Plant, ZRO Office or Any Other.
2Project / Work — search & pick the project. Choose “Any Other” to name a new work.
3Observation — type what you found (required). Each gets its own tracking ID to follow to closure.
4Take Photo — capture geo-tagged photos as proof. Use + / − to add or remove observations.
5Submit — files the inspection with a summary of observations and valid geo-photos.
Captured automatically for the audit trail: who inspected (your name & designation), the exact date & time, and the location — latitude, longitude and address. Every record is time- and place-stamped for accountability.
To keep it fast, each observation is stored with sensible defaults (category, severity, responsible party) that you don’t fill on site.
Finding & exporting inspections
My Inspections shows your own reports. Those allowed to see all inspections get the full list, which adds fast, combinable filters — on a phone they sit in a collapsible Filters panel (tap Filters to open or close).
›Period — All, Today, Yesterday, This week, This month or a Custom range. Applies instantly.
›Group & Division — narrow to inspections done by staff of that group / division. Both are searchable; picking a Group narrows the Division and Inspected-by lists to match.
›Inspected by — a searchable dropdown that shows each inspector as Name (Post), so you can tell people apart. Start typing to filter.
›Search — by inspection number, project or inspector name.
›Click Excel to download exactly what’s on screen — the export honours the Period, Group, Division, Inspected-by and Search filters.
›From any row, open the inspection or download its PDF report.
Assigning inspections & comments
Assign a submitted inspection report to specific people or posts so colleagues and seniors can view it — and, when enabled, discuss it. Assigning grants access only; it never lets anyone edit your report.
How to assign a report
›Open a submitted report (only submitted reports can be assigned), or tap the Assign button on any card in the list or history.
›In the Assign dialog, switch between the People and Posts tabs and tick who to assign to — you can pick both people and posts in one go, and each tab shows how many you've selected.
›Assigning to a post means whoever currently holds that post can see it — so access follows the post and survives staff transfers.
›Choose the permission — View (read the report + download its PDF) or View + Comment (also record what they did about it) — add an optional note, then tap Assign.
›View + Comment is the default, because assigning normally means asking someone to act and report back — a View-only assignee can read the report but cannot reply. Switch to View only for a genuinely read-only share.
›The Assign button is greyed out on a draft. Only a submitted report can be assigned — submit it first.
Finding reports assigned to you
›Open My Inspections and switch to the “Assigned to me” tab to see every report assigned to you or to a post you hold.
›The bell in the header shows a badge when new reports have been assigned to you; opening an assigned report clears it.
›You can view and download the PDF of any report assigned to you, exactly like your own.
Managing who has access
›On your report, the “Assigned to” strip at the bottom lists everyone it is assigned to. Tap Manage to open the Assign dialog.
›Revoke access any time with the next to a name in the dialog — it takes effect immediately.
› Comments: on an assigned report, add remarks in the Comments thread at the bottom. The owner and everyone the report is assigned to see one shared discussion.
› Assigning grants view / comment only — never edit. Only you (and administrators) can edit or delete your inspection.
People & dashboards
This guide is for everyone. Items marked Administrators are only available to staff with administrative access — they are described here so you know what exists and who to ask.
›HRMS Users — list staff by post, designation, department & division; filter, export to Excel, and activate / deactivate / assign.
Changing someone’s post Administrators
›Changing the post on a current assignment is recorded as a transfer: the old tenure is closed and a new one opened. The service record keeps both, because a real move is part of a person’s history.
›Changing dates, designation or charge type does not create a transfer — those are corrections to the same tenure.
›Assigning someone as Main charge closes the previous holder’s tenure on that post, and closes that person’s own previous main post. The picker names the current holder before you choose.
An assignment entered by mistake Administrators
›A transfer is the wrong record for a typo — it would leave the person with a tenure on a post they never held. Use Wrong entry on the assignment instead.
›It stops counting as service and a reason is required. The row is kept, marked cancelled with who cancelled it and why, so the correction can be answered for later.
›Anyone the wrong assignment displaced is put back — their tenure is reopened. You are shown exactly whose records will change before you confirm.
› Super Administrator only. Every other action moves history forward; this one says a recorded period of service never happened, so an ordinary administrator cannot do it.
›To end a tenure someone did hold, use Deactivate instead — that closes it and keeps it as service.
›Project (PMS) dashboard — live counts of ongoing, completed & draft projects with cost and progress.
›CEO dashboard — an access-controlled analytics view for leadership.
›Profile — update your name, contact and photo any time.
Common issues & solutions
Quick fixes for the problems people run into most.
Camera or location won’t open
›When prompted, tap Allow for both Camera and Location — they’re required to take geo-tagged inspection photos.
›If you accidentally tapped Block, the browser won’t ask again. Tap the lock icon in the address bar → Site settings / Permissions → set Camera and Location to Allow. The app then continues automatically.
›On Android: tap the lock icon → Permissions → allow Camera & Location. On iPhone (Safari): tap “aA” → Website Settings → allow both.
›The camera works only on a secure (https://) connection. Your official Nirikshan address is already secure — always open the app from it.
Registration — choosing posts & charges
›You can select more than one post from the same group / department to hold additional charge — add each post to your assignment list.
›To add a post from a different group / department (outside your own), it must be mapped for you — please contact the HQ / System Administrator to enable it.
›For direct / unmapped posts, choose “No Division / Direct Posts” in the Division list, then pick your post.
OTP not received
›Wait a few seconds — it arrives by SMS on your registered mobile. Use Resend OTP if needed (up to 3 times), and check network coverage.
›Not landing on the OTP screen at all? You’re probably still signed in via “Keep me signed in” — log out (or use a private window) to sign in fresh.
› Demo / review builds only: a fixed OTP 11111 is used for everyone (and 12345 for the review account) and no SMS is sent. On the live system a real OTP is always sent to your phone.
Forgot / reset password
›On the login page tap Forgot password, verify with the OTP sent to your mobile, then set a new password.
Account locked
›After 5 wrong password attempts the account locks for 15 minutes and unlocks automatically — or ask an administrator to unlock it immediately.
Other tips
›Profile photo not showing? Re-upload it from Profile — the picture is saved against your account.
›CEO dashboard blank? Some networks block it from embedding — use “Open in new tab” to view it directly.
›Signed out unexpectedly? Sessions end after 1 hour of inactivity for security — just sign in again.
›Still stuck? Note the on-screen message and the time, and contact your Nirikshan / HQ administrator.
Security & your data
›Two-factor login and role-based access — you only see the tools for your role.
›Super Administrator is a level above Administrator, kept for the few actions that can rewrite recorded history — such as cancelling an assignment entered by mistake. Administrators keep every other permission.
›Full activity log — every important action is recorded with user, time and IP for audit.
›Independently security-audited (CERT-In empanelled auditor).
